Useful: Which Kindle eBooks are Free on Amazon Prime?

CNET (“List of free Prime eligible Kindle e-books”) has a nifty link for navigating your way through Amazon’s free ebooks available to borrow via the new Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

Here’s the list for checking out the 5000+ ebooks currently available for free Kindle lending. At first glance, the Literature & Fiction section is something of a mixed bag; (although, there are some excellent books available for free borrowing).

Also useful to keep in mind, is the Amazon Prime free borrowing only works on actual Kindle hardware, which makes this slightly less cool:

“It’s important to remember that Prime-eligible loaners can only be read on Kindle hardware devices — you can’t read them with Kindle apps on devices such as the iPad or Android smartphones and tablets, nor can you read them on your computer in the browser-based Kindle Cloud Reader. Likewise, you can’t “send” loaners to Kindle devices from your Web browser, as you can with e-book purchases; you’ll have to look up the book on the Kindle itself to download it.”
